The smartphone market is again in luck with the legacy of a new mid-range terminal. Developed by ZTE, the Blade V40 Design focuses on two key issues: photography and materials.
ZTE has officially put on sale today in Spain the new model of its Blade range, the ZTE Blade V40 Design smartphone. The device wants to convince users that photography and construction quality prevail, says the company.
They have achieved this thanks to the redesign of their cameras and the choice of higher-level colors and materials on the back: matte that contrasts with the shiny band and the golden elements to give it a unique personality.
The ZTE Blade V40 Design has 163 x 74 x 7.98 mm measurements, making it one of the thinnest in its range. Because it does not have an AMOLED screen, it does not have an on-screen fingerprint reader but instead mounts it on the side of the phone, where the frame is located.
But, as we always do, before getting into the matter, we will see its technical characteristics to see the virtues of the phone and its weakest points. Let’s go there!

Specifications to work in the mid-range
ZTE boasts of its Memory Fusion Tech, which allows internal storage to be used as RAM. The Blade V40 Design has 6 GB expandable up to 11 GB that works together with the Unisoc T616 2 GHz 8-core processor. Here it is true that we are talking about an almost entry-level SoC.
To compensate for this lack of raw power, ZTE has introduced UFS 2.2 storage technology, a standard in its segment, giving excellent write, read, and response times.
It can expand the internal memory of the device from 128 GB -the only memory we can choose in this terminal- up to 1 TB of capacity through microSD so that space is never a problem to store all multimedia content.
Blade V40 Design has a 50 Mpx primary camera with an f1.8 focal aperture. In addition, it has another 2 Mpx camera that helps create blurs and add bokeh effects to portraits. To capture small or close objects, use a 2 Mpx macro camera.
The selfie camera is housed in its discreet drop-type notch and has an 8 Mpx sensor to cover the needs of video calls and photography. Here we do not know what opening we have. And we have a 6.6” FHD+ (1,080 x 2,408 px) panoramic screen.
The ZTE Blade V40 Design has a 4,500 mAh battery that should perform well together with its 22.5 W fast charge (with charger included in the box). In just 20 minutes, it quickly quickly quickly recovers 30% of its battery,,,,,, providing extra autonomy to the terminal.
Price and availability of the ZTE Blade V40 Design
The ZTE Blade V40 Design is available in Spain today in various stores in its Starry Black color. As we have said, this will be the only color this model will have since ZTE is very proud of this combination.
Regarding the price, the device with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage reaches €199, although, until January 6, it can be purchased with a promotional launch price of €159 for the campaign of Christmas.
